Reto Marx has taken over as CEO of Sygnum Singapore while co-founder Gerald Goh moves into an executive chairman role.
Effective 1 August 2026, the leadership changes come as Sygnum expands its digital wealth business in Asia.
Marx joins from VP Bank Singapore, where he most recently served as CEO, Co-Head Singapore and Chief Risk Officer for Asia.
He brings more than 25 years of wealth management experience across UBS, Credit Suisse, Bank Sarasin and VP Bank.
Marx’s previous roles covered private banking, financial intermediaries, product development and risk management across Singapore and Hong Kong.
He also held several senior positions at UBS Wealth Management, including Head of Hong Kong and APAC Regional Head for Global Financial Intermediaries.
Marx will lead Sygnum’s Singapore business as it serves high-net-worth clients, family offices and institutional partners across Asia Pacific.

“Asian wealth is increasingly seeking trusted, regulated access to digital assets as part of a diversified portfolio.
I am excited to work with Gerald, the leadership team, and our clients and partners to translate that demand into the next phase of growth for Sygnum in the region,”
said Reto Marx, CEO, Sygnum Singapore.
As Executive Chairman of Sygnum APAC, Goh will work with Group CEO Mathias Imbach and the board on the firm’s broader strategic agenda.
He will lead groupwide capital markets and fundraising, oversee investor relations and manage key strategic initiatives and stakeholder relationships, with a particular focus on Asia Pacific.

“Reto’s appointment is part of our continued effort to further strengthen our senior leadership team in Singapore and Asia as we move into the next phase of growth.
With his extensive experience in wealth management across Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia, Reto is well placed to drive our digital wealth strategy forward and deepen our engagement with clients and institutional partners in the APAC region,”
said Gerald Goh, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman, Sygnum APAC.
