Patrick O’Connor will also move from Head of Global ETFs to Vice Chairman of the Global Client Group.

O’Connor will advise Co-President and Chief Commercial Officer Daniel Gamba on investment solutions, innovation, strategy and global expansion.

His initial focus will include growing the firm’s ETF capabilities across Japan, Greater China, Korea, Taiwan and India.

He helped build Franklin Templeton’s ETF business to more than US$75 billion in assets.

The changes come as Franklin Templeton reshapes its Global Client Group around areas including ETFs, global product management, APAC and institutional distribution.

The firm said it has generated US$63.4 billion in net inflows in its fiscal year to date across wealth and institutional clients, asset classes and regions.
