After conquering Club Med Cherating and Club Med Bintan, hubby decided we should try Club Med Lijiang next. The kids are so excited because it’ll be their first winter Club Med experience but minus the snow.
How to go Club Med Lijiang
Since there’s no direct flight to Lijiang, we flew with China Southern Airlines about 4 hours from Singapore to Guangzhou. We did an overnight layover there and even got a free hotel stay before catching our connecting flight to Lijiang (around 3 hours).
Before heading to Club Med Lijiang, we actually did a 4D3N stay in Lijiang Old Town. For transport to Club Med, we booked a Didi ride. It’s super easy to arrange via WeChat or Alipay. Alternatively, you can book an airport transfer with Club Med Lijiang when you make your reservation.

During Arrival
The first thing that caught my eye is the mountain view, which is really amazing and beautiful.
While the staff settle our check in, we had welcome drink and the kids enjoying the mini play area at the hall. Me took this chance to have a look outside the hall, the view is really very beautiful, even though its cold outside but the view makes me want to stay longer.

Once the staff was ready, he briefed us on our stay and then slowly walked us to our rooms while helping us familiarise ourselves with the resort.
Because the resort is huge, the walk to our room was quite long. And it gets really cold in the early morning and at night. During our stay, the temperature dropped to -5°C during night time. So it’s important to bring your coat along, even if the afternoons don’t feel that cold.

Club Med Lijiang Room
We booked an interconnecting Deluxe Room, and it comes with a balcony with an amazing view! The rooms are very spacious and new, and each room can sleep up to 3 people.

Club Med Lijiang Family and Kids Activities
Once we settled into our rooms, the kids couldn’t wait to start their activities so we headed straight to the activity area. You can always check with the GO on where the activities are happening, so your kids can join in.
The only downside for us is that there’s no Teens Club, so our teens had to tag along with us while the three younger ones went for their activities. The first activity was outdoors, freezing for us, but the younger ones didn’t feel a thing because they were jumping and running around the whole time, so they stayed warm.
Club Med are known for their performance including kids talent showcase. You can check their daily activities and performance details at the electric board at the lobby or WeChat. Unlike Bintan and Cherating where we use Club Med app, China uses WeChat as their main form of communication and information.
For the kids talent performance, if your child doesn’t want to join is ok. My kids love it the first time they join Club Med Bintan, only didi getting more shy when he gets older so he didn’t join in any performance during our recent Club Med Bintan stay in 2025.

We also noticed that the activity sessions felt a bit shorter compared to Club Med Bintan and Cherating. I’m guessing it could be because of the cold weather, or maybe they’re slightly understaffed. But it didn’t affect us much because there are plenty of family-friendly activities we can do together, like table games, ball games, the swimming pool, and cycling.

The swimming pool and changing area are warm, so you don’t need to worry about catching a chill during winter. I especially like the pool area because they have age-appropriate facilities and plenty of benches for resting.

For cycling, the bicycles are free to rent. Just remember to book early because availability is limited, especially for kids’ bikes. And I highly recommend to try cycling with your kids because the view is really amazing. There’s also a park where you can stop by and relax!

There are also some other activities for the adults like tea ceremony, gym and Baisha Old Town Tour, and all these are free, technically included in our Club Med package. I highly recommend the tour, you can either cycle there or take DiDi there. There’s a lot of local street food and Instagram worthy cafe in Baisha Old Town, but we were too full from our lunch buffet and also planning to keep our tummy for the dinner buffet so we didn’t manage to eat any food but we bought back some local snacks back!

During our stay, we are given vouchers to do cultural photoshoot in Club Med. It comes with free 3 edited photos for each room and since we got 2 rooms, we have 6 photos free! But we ended up topping up for more photos.
Head gear and accessories are included but make up not included, based on the price in 2024, RMB100 for light make up and RM300 for detailed make up, like what I did in Old Town Lijiang.
Tips:
Book the slot when you arrive on the first day
Booking are done via wechat
If you are scared of cold, choose the photoshoot timing between 2-4pm
Photos choosing is done 2 hours after the photoshoot, photos taken after 5pm will be done next day morning.

Club Med Food & Christmas Feast
Always looking forward to Club Med food especially their main restaurant, where we will have all three meals there. After comparing Club Med Bintan, Club Med Cherating, and Club Med Lijiang, I’m more inclined towards the food at Lijiang maybe because they have such a huge selection, plus lots of seafood!
But if we are comparing overall restaurant options, I would say Bintan is better.
Club Med Lijiang also has 3 restaurants, the main restaurant, where they serve a Western and Chinese buffet for all three meals and the Gourmet Lounge, where they serve Naxi food outside the main meal timings. During the period I went, there weren’t many choices, but it’s good if you want something light and don’t feel like eating the buffet.
The last one is the snack restaurant but it was closed when we are there.
Showing you guys some of the food we had for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Do note that I went during the Christmas period, so some menus and dishes were exclusive to Christmas Eve and Christmas Day celebrations..

During Christmas Eve, they had big grilled lobster for every guest, plus mini abalone and ham. After dinner, there were fireworks at the night party too!

On Christmas morning, they prepared Christmas presents for the kids and distributed them according to their ages this part was really so thoughtful. For dinner, there were even more varieties, a welcome drink, food booths at the entrance, and lots more Christmas desserts. The night party was a Candyland themed party with family bonding activities and gifts.

Honestly, no regrets celebrating Christmas at Club Med Lijiang.
