MUFG Retirement Solutions, a division of MUFG Pension & Market Services, and InvestStream, a provider of financial modelling and engagement technology, today announced their intention to enter a strategic partnership aimed at helping superannuation funds expand members’ access to personalised digital advice and guidance by simplifying the engagement experience.
The proposed partnership would combine InvestStream’s conversational engagement technology and financial modelling capabilities with MUFG Retirement Solutions’ administration platforms, enabling a more connected approach to member engagement while supporting superannuation funds to deliver scalable, digitally enabled advice and guidance.
As expectations for personalised digital experiences continue to grow, superannuation funds are looking for new ways to engage members throughout their retirement journey. By bringing together conversational engagement technology, governed financial modelling and core administration capabilities, the proposed partnership aims to reduce complexity, create greater continuity across member interactions and support more informed financial decision-making.
This proposed partnership represents another important step in MUFG Retirement Solutions’ long-term strategy to help shape the future of retirement in Australia. It builds on the company’s ongoing investment in retirement technology, digital engagement, administration capabilities and its people, supported by strategic partnerships that help superannuation funds deliver innovative solutions that enable accessible and personalised guidance for members.
Frank Lombardo, CEO MUFG Retirement Solutions ANZ, said the proposed partnership highlights the important role technology can play in helping to address the advice gap and enabling superannuation funds to respond to evolving member expectations and supporting Australians to make more confident retirement decisions.
“One of the greatest opportunities facing our industry is expanding access to quality financial advice for more Australians. We believe technology has an important role to play in helping democratise advice by making personalised guidance more accessible, affordable and scalable.
“Our proposed partnership with InvestStream would bring conversational engagement tools, sophisticated financial modelling and administration capabilities into a single ecosystem, rather than treating these capabilities as separate. This integrated solution would enable superannuation funds to scale their personalised guidance while reducing complexity and improving the member experience.”
Jason Hoang, Founder and CEO of InvestStream, said the proposed partnership would make sophisticated financial modelling more accessible within everyday member interactions.
“Professional-grade financial intelligence has traditionally been available primarily through financial advisers and specialist advice processes. We believe technology can help make those same insights accessible to more Australians.
“By combining our technology with MUFG Retirement Solutions’ administration capabilities, we have an opportunity to bring sophisticated financial modelling into the digital experiences members already use, helping superannuation funds close the advice gap and deliver more personalised guidance at scale.
The proposed partnership is expected to integrate InvestStream’s SuperAnne conversational engagement platform and SUGAI financial modelling capabilities with MUFG Retirement Solutions’ administration ecosystem.
This would enable member interactions, financial modelling and adviser workflows to operate from a connected technology environment, improving continuity between digital engagement and adviser support, reducing duplicated data entry and providing funds with a streamlined way to deliver personalised member experiences.
