Castlepoint Systems has successfully completed an Australian InfoSec Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) assessment at the PROTECTED level for its trusted information management platform powered by Explainable AI.
Conducted by an independent IRAP assessor, the assessment evaluated Castlepoint against more than 750 applicable controls within the Australian Signals Directorate’s Information Security Manual (ISM). The assessment reflects the maturity of the security controls supporting both Castlepoint‘s AI SaaS platform as well as its corporate network, providing independent assurance for organisations operating in environments managing information classified up to PROTECTED.
The milestone follows Castlepoint’s successful triennial recertification to ISO 9001 and ISO 27001, as well as Australian and UK JOSCAR, further reinforcing the maturity of the company’s quality, security, and governance practices.
With the rise in organisations adopting AI to manage growing volumes of enterprise information, expectations around security, governance and transparency continue to grow.
Castlepoint Chief Executive Officer Rachael Greaves (pictured) said the assessment reflects the company’s long-standing focus on building secure, transparent information management technology.
“Security has always been fundamental to how we build and deliver our technology. Completing our standalone IRAP assessment provides government and other highly regulated organisations with independent assurance that the security controls supporting our SaaS hosted platform have been assessed against the Australian Government Information Security Manual.”
“With the ongoing adoption and implementation of AI, transparency is becoming just as important as automation. Our Explainable AI enables users to understand how information has been identified, classified, and controlled, supporting informed decision-making while maintaining the security and accountability expected in high-assurance environments. Undertaking standalone certification of the platform, separate to existing client-network IRAP assessments, is another way we practice transparency.”
While AI and automation is becoming commonplace, organisations need high confidence in how decisions are reached, particularly in government and other highly regulated environments. Unlike AI systems that operate as a ‘closed box’, Castlepoint’s Explainable AI provides a transparent and auditable record of how information has been analysed and classified.
Castlepoint supports organisations across government, defence, policing, financial services, education, healthcare, and other highly regulated sectors, helping them identify sensitive and high-value data automatically, and reuse, remove, restrict, or redact it in compliance with laws and policies.
