Robinhood’s event-contract revenue increased more than tenfold year on year to $156 million in the second quarter of 2026, making the product its fastest-growing disclosed transaction category.

Event contracts generated more revenue than equities and cryptocurrencies during the quarter, although options remained the largest disclosed trading category. Activity also reached a quarterly record, with 13.6 billion event contracts traded through Robinhood’s Prediction Markets Hub, more than ten times the prior-year level.

Total net revenue rose 32% year on year to $1.31 billion for the three months ended 30 June. Transaction-based revenue increased 44% to $776 million, with Robinhood identifying event contracts as one of the main contributors to the increase.

Event Contracts Pass Equities and Crypto

Options generated $342 million in revenue after a 29% increase. Event contracts ranked second among the principal disclosed trading categories at $156 million, ahead of equities at $129 million and cryptocurrencies at $100 million.

Equities revenue increased 95%, while crypto revenue declined 38%. Event contracts therefore exceeded crypto revenue by $56 million during the quarter. Robinhood did not disclose profitability by product or provide an outlook for how the transaction revenue mix may develop.

The figures show a substantial change from the product’s launch in March 2025. They do not make event contracts Robinhood’s largest trading business, but place them among the platform’s material transaction-based revenue sources.

    Rothera Contributes $17 Million

Robinhood’s earnings presentation said the $156 million total included $17 million of revenue from Rothera, the CFTC-licensed exchange and clearing house launched in June. The venue is independently managed through Robinhood’s joint venture with Susquehanna International Group.

The company reported more than 3.5 billion contracts traded on Rothera to date. That figure should not be combined directly with the 13.6 billion contracts recorded through the Prediction Markets Hub because Robinhood uses different counting methods. The hub measure counts contracts bought or sold, while Rothera counts each matched pair of Yes and No contracts as one traded contract.

Finance Magnates previously reported that Robinhood and Susquehanna rebranded MIAXdx as Rothera and began routing high-volume contracts through the venue. The move added exchange and clearing infrastructure to the customer distribution Robinhood had initially built using third-party venues.

The second-quarter figures therefore show event contracts moving beyond their initial rollout and becoming a material contributor to Robinhood’s transaction business. The product still generated less revenue than options, but exceeded both equities and crypto while recording the fastest reported revenue growth.
