ASX-listed Zip Co Limited have announced it will continue using the Zip brand in Australia having reached a settlement with Firstmac Limited.
Following Zip’s announcement on 13 May, 2026, Zip and Firstmac have reached a settlement agreement under which Zip will acquire the registered trademark No. 1021128 for Zip. This means that Zip can continue to use the name Zip in Australia in respect of its products and services. As previously announced, the branding of Zip’s US and New Zealand business remains unaffected.
While the terms of the settlement agreement are otherwise confidential, Zip has no further liability for damages or costs in relation to Firstmac’s proceedings and Zip confirms that the amount payable under this settlement is not material to the Zip Group and does not affect Zip’s FY26 guidance.
